Late Nite Magpies
Why are the magpies making early morning bird calls? I feel like it must be near-dawn and I should get up but it's a little after 1am. I want to go out and join them. We could just sit around and talk, watch a fire die down, go for a walk in the dark. I feel like there's something I could be doing outside and I'd have company in the magpies. Maybe there is something I could be doing outside but buggered if I know what it is. What are they doing?
Comments:
I think I know what they are doing... they wait for you. They shirp around until you get up and come out. Then they shut up. As if they´ve reached their goal.
That´s at least what the birds in my yard do.
Maybe they think this is fun. Or some sort of sport.
They don´t know that we´re working and need our sleep.
Though the birds in my yard start their games at 04:00 in the morning, not at night.
I wear ear protection and get along with them :-)

Ha, ha! A magpie conspiracy! I like their singing, they're casual and alert at the same time, so I don't need to block my ears. I don't think I'd like to be woken up at 4am every morning but I'd like a yard for birds to visit. :-)
A conspiracy :-)
Yard wasn´t the right word - backyard fits better - it´s all surrounded by blocks of flats, so the acoustic noise is really strong. Last night the lonesome cat was screaming again - didn´t get the birds?
Another conspiracy of them! Making fun of a cat now! ;-)
