Wildlife Warrior
Steve Irwin died today, caught by the barb of a stingray. I can't imagine him resting in peace, so I hope he finds something to do, wherever he is. I hope he's inspired other Australians to care more for the environment too.
Comments:
Ouch. That'd have to be a reflex, wouldn't it, to grab at the barb?
Rays are such gentle-looking creatures, the way the waft through the water. And yet I've heard of people removing their barbs and leaving the creatures defenceless (this happened in the estuary at Augusta) for no good reason. I hope this doesn't give some cruel people false justification for harming them.
